Thanks for taking time to check out FamilyHelpOnline, its services and me- your service provider. :-)  I have a long history working with people with a wide range of individual and family needs.  I became interested in working with individuals dealing with special needs early in my life. It was this early exposure and interaction, which led me to pursue the field of early intervention, that is, working with children under six years old who have or are at risk for special needs. My work history has provided rich opportunities to not only interact with hundreds of young children, but also their caregivers; foster parents, biological parents, adoptive parents, as well as members of each family's service team when applicable.

It is my belief that early experiences and opportunities in our earliest relationships  strongly influence our ability to achieve our optimal potential in life.  It has made sense then, to focus on working with children and families during the preschool years. More and more throughout my career, I have explored special needs that are related to emotional experience and the environment.  Perhaps this interest is what fueled further studies in social work.  I have been fortunate in that as I have pursued schooling, the field of early intervention has been expanding to understand and develop Infant Mental Health practices.

With formal training in child development and social work, it seemed a natural step when I began working in adoption and recognized that many of my special interests came together in this population. Skills that I have gained over the years in infant mental health and behavior management in addition to my in depth understanding of typical and atypical child development, enables me to provide a diverse perspective as well as offer unique practical strategies to parents and families.

Although I have an established specialty, I do offer counselling for a wide range of issues for individuals and/or families.   If you are interested in learning more about whether I may be a resource for you, please continue to check the information on this site....or call me directly.

I would be honoured to be a part of your journey.
